Managing Media Channels
Overview
Recent years have seen an explosion of communication channels. Whether working with traditional mainstream media, or online microbloggers, knowing which channel to choose and when is vital for an effective strategy. This session explores and explains the multi-channel environment, how they intersect and how to utilise them to build and sustain more effective relationships with communities, stakeholders and influencers. It looks at how mainstream media has been affected by social media and how the various channels have altered both news cycles and news values as well as the way we prepare and present information.

Introduction to Public Relations
Overview
This practical, one day seminar is aimed at those who have just started out in public relations or those who need some updating on basic PR skills – perhaps you work alongside the PR and Communications team, or have ‘fallen into’ the PR/Comms role without any formal training. This seminar will provide you with sound basic introductory theory illustrated with recent case studies and punctuated by practical exercises in small teams as you increase your skills and knowledge.
