Seven Habits of Very Safe People

Presented by the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand
Led by Mark Taylor, Safety Matters (NZ) Ltd.

Introduction

The last thing to change in any safety programme, process or training is the culture. Only when this occurs will sustainability be possible. However, achieving and sustaining excellence cannot be achieved by compliance alone, as it depends more on the style of approach rather than the approach itself.

This one-day workshop will provide you with a framework for developing a safety culture and enable you to understand and communicate safety concerns far easier than ever before. In addition, you will learn and be able to influence even the most difficult "Old Dog" into at least trying some new tricks.

Level: General

Course Description

The majority of workplace accidents are caused by unsafe acts rather than at-risk conditions. So even if you've got excellent systems and procedures, but don't have a culture of safety at the coalface, you've still got a long way to go to sustain an injury free workplace!

This revolutionary new course has been developed by Mark Taylor a safety professional with more than twenty years experience, with the help of International Communication Expert Kevin T McCarney.

The course will enable you to understand your employees better by knowing what makes them tick, be able to recognise changes in their behaviour, which could put them at risk and learn how to communicate safety issues more freely, which will influence them to behave safer.
