The purpose of this Webinar is to provide HR students with guidance while they figure out the first steps in their professional journey. Gain insight from HR professionals themselves while they share their career journey, challenges, and key tips and advice. There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A at the end. Come along and learn more about a career in HR.

Emily Atkinson
Emily Atkinson

Emily joined HRNZ as a student member whilst studying HR at University and has continued as a general member since. Emily has a strong background in recruitment, and more recently the payroll function and organisational development/wellness. Emily has a passion for the application of wellness initiatives and frameworks, particularly in blue-collared industries. Emily’s current role is a generalist role which sees her undertaking end-to-end recruitment, leading the wellness space and providing cover to the payroll function.

Jessica Bensley

Jessica is an HR Manager for an Auckland manufacturing company and a student herself. Jess has been studying part-time since 2019 and has grown her role from HR Advisor to HR Manager and became a member of her organisation's Senior Leadership Team, she attributes her professional growth to her passion for HR and her studies. Jess has been a member of HRNZ since 2021 and became a Student Ambassador in 2023, she has hosted several interns at her organisation and enjoys seeing others passionate about the industry succeed.

Olivia Marshall

Olivia joined the HRNZ Otago Branch Committee in July 2021 after becoming a part of the Platinum Recruitment whānau. Olivia comes from a non-traditional HR path, however found her way to recruitment from her experience as an Operations Manager & completing her Masters of Entrepreneurship. Olivia’s passion for business, relationship building & management led her to pursue a career in white collar recruitment, where she heads up the HR, Sales & Marketing desks in a 360 capacity. She has a passion for people focused recruitment, creativity, and helping others succeed. Outside of work, Olivia loves spending time at the beach with her dogs and owns two businesses that keep her busy.
